Do I need a card to start?
No. You get 14 days free and we don’t ask for card details until you decide to stay. If you don’t, the account just stops.
How do the deposits work?
You connect a Stripe account through Barbertab, which takes a few minutes and doesn’t send you off to another site. After that, clients pay their deposit when they book and the money goes straight into your account. You set the amount per service and decide what happens to it when someone cancels late.
What’s the difference between the tiers?
Only how many reminder texts you send. Every feature is on every tier — nothing is held back for the dearer ones. Pick the tier that matches your volume, not your shop size, and move between them whenever.
Do you take a cut of what I earn in the shop?
No. Cash or card in the chair is yours and we never see it. The only money that moves through Stripe is deposits and memberships, and on those you pay Stripe’s standard UK rate and nothing else — we take no platform fee on either.
What if there’s more than one barber?
Add as many as you like. The first is in the tier price; every barber after that is £5 a month, whichever tier you are on. Everyone gets their own calendar, hours and services, clients choose who they want, and you see the whole shop in one diary. Add or remove barbers whenever you like from your settings.
Can I bring my existing clients over?
Yes. Upload a CSV of names, numbers and emails and they’re in, with their history if you have it. If your list is in a spreadsheet, a notebook or another app, send it over and we’ll sort it.
Do I still need a website?
Probably not. Your page at barbertab.com/joes-barbers carries your services, prices, hours, photos and the booking form. Most shops put that link in their Instagram bio and leave it there.
What happens when someone cancels?
The slot frees up straight away, you get told, and the client gets a text confirming it. Whether they keep their deposit depends on the notice period you set, and you can always waive it for a regular.
How many reminder texts do I get?
That is the one thing the tiers change. Starter covers 80 a month, which is about right for a busy barber working alone; Standard covers 250; Unlimited has no stated limit and is built for shops sending around 450 a month. Your dashboard shows the count, and you can move tier whenever you like.
Is my clients’ data safe?
It’s stored encrypted, never sold or shared, and it stays yours. You can export everything or delete a client’s record on request, which is what UK GDPR expects of you as the shop.
Can I cancel?
Any time, from your settings, without ringing anyone. You keep access until the end of the month you’ve paid for and you take your client list with you.
